We close out 1934 with another novelty song about a football player, "Cross-Eyed Kelly," who may or may not win the big game!
Tom Stacks lets us know on this Decca record with Harry Reser's band:
So good to get in one more Reser/Stacks record!
Kind of interesting that Kelly specifically plays for "Penn-Syl-Van-Eye-Ay" rather than an anonymous or fictional college and that his team is playing Tennessee!
Joe Haymes also recorded "Cross-Eyed Kelly" on this budget label release with vocalist Clifford Wetterlau/Cliff Weston:
I got into the Joe Haymes story a bit before and this record shows his band could really play!
